Just noticed that the dev-site has some certificate problem. Chrome won't connect there. Anybody else seeing this?

Yeah I posted that over at -dev about 13 hours ago

I don't run as many at the same time as before but I like these since we can check and see they are actually running in the log so that many hours are fine if they are really working.

https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=401733280

funny Theory works fine on the same host that had problems last week with the CMS all of a sudden
And with that problem a clean install of VB newest and newest Boinc made no difference so maybe the latest Windows update so I may see if it needs a reinstall of the CMS vdi ....later

All I can add is that this only happened with me on the 10th and before that it didn't happen and the way I run these has never changed and they are always Valid until this happened here.
And of course the last one that failed was run after I set the pref.. to only give me ONE task instead of the usual 8 and it did the same thing.

I may just do a clean install of VB and try a single task again and see if it works.

Mine had no problems and then started doing this......

Have a look into Virtual disk media with VirtualBox Manager. Probably there are several remnants of old VM's.
Cannot close medium 'C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\lhcathome.cern.ch_lhcathome\CMS_2022_09_07_prod.vdi' because it has 7 child media

Yes I checked that the first time and there was nothing there so I tried again and they all crashed in one second and that is when 7 of the 8 were suspended but when I went over to -dev it had no problem with that version of CMS so it wasn't that Manager problem

Here is one for you Ben
Remember back in the T4T days when we sort of had a contest to see who had the longest Valid Theory task and at first Yeti thought he had it and then I passed him up with an even longer one.

This one isn't quite that long as far as T4T days but here this may be my longest Valid task

Another example of how waiting is part of running a Valid task when you watch the running log.

I admit that this doesn't happen that often and last time I got one this long or longer was back at Test4Theory

Run time 7 days 17 hours 36 min 8 sec
CPU time 7 days 16 hours 26 min 13 sec

Welcome back CMS Brother Ivan

You should get better every day and it looks like your hair is even growing back too!

I had close to that same thing way back in 2001 when we just had the original Seti and was how I even started here in 2004 and Einstein a couple months later.
I remember my last wish before my surgery was "please don't shave my head" so they only did where the staples went and my hair has never been short since I was in HS so when the wife had to take pictures of me you couldn't see the shaved side. (that all happened in Sept. 2001 so it was quite a trip indeed)

So just take it easy and be careful when you are walking around so you are always prepared in case you just get a bit dizzy.
We all hope you are around here until you at least catch up to our young brother Ben here

Only laptop that I have had to retire over the decades here was an ASUS 8 core that ran non-stop for 7 years here and never moved off the table in front of me while watching tv and the problem was just that jack on the side where you plug in the power to keep the battery charged.

For some reason (well actually a bad solder I suppose) it started going dead unless I sort of moved the jack a little.

Well it became the first laptop I ever took completely apart so I know how it all works......so I soldered in a new jack and it worked about a year and it happened again and then I couldn't get it to get the power to the battery again and you know how they made that rediculous battery connection where you can't just connect a positive and negative wire to it.......so I had to retire it but took out the SSD and plugged it into one of my desktops that has also been running non stop since 2014

Back when we started in 2004 we thought a single core with 1 GB ram was a cool pc and my first one was even worse than that here.
(good to see you here Ivan)
