Milestones
(Message 18955)
Posted 4 Feb 2008 by Conan Post: Could not find a Milestone thread (I did look on all 21 pages, but could of missed it). So I started this one. I have passed 10,000 cobblestones/credits on LHC after a verrrry long time. Have also passed 5,000 on Spinhenge, Plus my computer that does LHC has passed 1,000,000 cobblestones/credits and that makes it the first one I have that has done this. |

Boinc farms.
(Message 18846)
Posted 17 Jan 2008 by Conan Post: Have had to stop using the 3 computers I had access to at work as I no longer work there. So down 3 x 2.4GHz Intel Celerons, down 1.5 GB ram and down 240 GB hard drives. Drops my system to 5 Computers, 15 cores, 37.15 GHz, 11 GB ram, 2,160 GB HD But as a new Christmas present for myself (it came after Christmas, but never mind), I have built another AMD Opteron 285, as I already had the chips. This adds 4 x 2.6 GHz, 2 GB ram, 2 x 400 GB Hard Drives. After droping the P4 2.53@2.75 Ghz back to 2.66GHz I have now dropped it back to standard 2.53Ghz. This brings my small farm back up to:- 6 Computers (5 at my house), Giving 19 CPU cores, 47.33 GHz, 13 GB RAM, 2,960 GB Hard Disk space. Hope this is a good year for all. |

Stil a pending credit
(Message 18595)
Posted 14 Nov 2007 by Conan Post: It seems to me that any WU that has completed in such a short time that they generate a credit amount lower than 2 decimal places (as in 0.00236xxxxx) that the validator is unable then to grant any credit and validate the WU. I now have 31 pending and all are showing the above problem (0.00xxxxxx claim). Can these be validated or killed please? |

Unable to upload results
(Message 18582)
Posted 12 Nov 2007 by Conan Post: Is anyone else having problems uploading results? I have been getting "Temporarily Failed upload" for a couple of days now. The project had to shut down due to electricity work being carried out over the week end at the University. It is on the front page under "News". I believe it is now back up as I am able to answer this post. |

Is This Spam?
(Message 18492)
Posted 1 Nov 2007 by Conan Post: To Admin Staff, Please check out user "cars" (easy to find in Profiles). He/she/it has created 15 profiles, so I assume 15 accounts as well and the included links are all about buying and selling cars. Nothing to do with this project. No credit (not a real problem as often no work) but also no computers are recorded either. Every one is a different country but all have the same links and information (or lack thereof) in them. I have seen recently posts in the Boinc Mailing list about a Spam hit on Boinc projects, so this maybe the same thing. If this is SPAM, then please remove. |

All the Pending WU's that I have are all of this type. So could the pending problem be the validator is just not calibrated enough for this type of result where the claimed points are below 2 decimal places? |

Posted 25 Oct 2007 by Conan Post:
G'Day LHC@home management team, It has taken well over a year but thanks to the new management team, who seem to actually care about us volunteers, I am now the founder of my team. A BIG THANKYOU Alex and also Neasan, for finally getting this sorted for me. Now you just have to fixed up Krunchin Keith and that will then get two of us off your back. Thanks again. |

Thanks Alex and Neasan, just curious if you have 'had a look' yet? As yet it has not changed, does it take a few days perhaps to take effect?. |

Posted 21 Oct 2007 by Conan Post: To the SysAdmin/Moderator or just a person with the nessecary power. Quote from PovAddict Admins: Oh come on. I'm sure you have access to the database, what's so hard about it? It doesn't matter how many thousand things you have on your to-do list, it takes less than a minute to do: G'Day Neasan Would this be able to be done before the new server code update or after? I know how to wait (my original request was made on the 8 July 2006). Just wondering now that you have kicked the project along a bit more. It is not only for me as others would like this as well, as you can see from this thread. Thanks Conan. |

Question about CPU
(Message 18233)
Posted 17 Oct 2007 by Conan Post: Was wondering, are the works sent by @home sites Beowulf compatible? The Boinc Project team looked at the "Super Host" idea with all other nodes passing data through just one node (the only one talking to the project), but went no further with it. Some people/universities/schools using Boinc have been using a programme called CONDOR that does something like this with software so that only one computer actually does the communicating with the project but I think each node does get its own id from the project as per normal. I have also heard of a user who currently is crunching on QMC@home who uses scrips to make a cluster of computers pass all data through the one node, just check the Top Computer list in QMC and look at the number one computer with an RAC of over 60,000 on a listed 2 core computer. This may be of help. |

Posted 20 Sep 2007 by Conan Post: What is the schedule for updating the Server Software?? Please give us some hope. (I'm waiting to merge my hosts) Yes agreed. With Einstein, Cosmology and QMC on the latest Server Version of 601 (also Seti). Superlink on Server Version 511. And Rosetta, Ralph, The Lattice Project and CPDN all on 509. You get poor old LHC bringing up the rear on Server Version 505. Definately time for an update, even if it just for the new security features. |

Your response on the 28/6/07 was that you were looking into it a bit further, so how goes it? I know you have been busy but just curious how things are progressing. |

Posted 24 Jul 2007 by Conan Post: I don't suppose anyone has ideas about the need to login everytime? I still have to enter my email and password eaach time I power up my PC but this is the only Project I have to do that for - I didn't need to do it before the redesign. Also not happening on AMD Opteron with Firefox and Linux Fedora Core 3, account stays open all the time (many weeks). |

In total not a huge amount of cobblestones but they have been pending since the end of April and it would be nice to clean things up in preparation of getting any new work. Thanks |
