No need to worry. I've had 8 to 12 hr run times that all validated OK.

95 and 5% by priority?
doesn't work if you have other projects full of tasks

Still is what resource share is all about, be it 2 projects or 3,4,5,...,10 etc. Set what you want and BOINC will do the rest. You just need to understand that we are here for the benefit of the projects not the other way around and not all projects have work all the time. That is why you have more than 1 project - but you already know that.

Live long and crunch.

I thought that is what resource share was all about.

I have LHC at 95% and a 'back-up' project at 5%. Works a treat. When there is no LHC it picks up work from the other project and when there is LHC it picks work up from LHC. Sometimes BOINC can be a bit slow to pick up LHC work but that is a BOINC issue not a LHC issue.

11) Message boards : Number crunching : Who hoards the wu's? (Message 25007)
Posted 17 Dec 2012 by Profile The Gas Giant
Post:
I note the other day I received a few wu's and my machine crunched them within hours of getting them and then the queue ran out. There were 15k or so wu's in progress. This number has been dropping, but extremely slowly and in no way near the speed at which it really should. Are people able to hoard wu's? Or are there just extremely slow computers doing them?

Cheers,

Paul.

I have to respectively disagree. The project has a heart beat albeit very weak. Small amounts of work flow occasionally recently. The boards work but are operating on a deprecated version of the BOINC server software (why this version was installed no one really knows).

The good thing is that Bigmac has hinted at lots of work to come...now can we believe him?

Been a long time, too long.
It is all beginning to happen I think and a plan is finally being put in place.

Can't say much yet. But planning to
upgrade both server and api
and "everything" else.

Bigmac, to recite a line from a popular '60s song (and various remakes) "You just keep me hanging on."
