I found a simple solution is to create a team called "banned for life" again. guaranteed any accounts inside the team will be banned in under 24hrs. I didn't need to say anything it was promptly deleted about an hour after i created it. i was glad to be rid of my account.

That's the very reason i still have 2 stats boxes as the CPID cant catch up until stats are exported. Also the LHC one has a nasty RAC value lol. It will catch up one day and then i can cheer until then i run 2 stats boxes.

I managed to get my stats out of sync by changing email address when i changed ISP's.

The easiest fix i could think of here is something RCN was doing for a while when they couldnt generate Wu's as fast as we could crunch them. There was a limit on the number of WU's a computer could have at any time. Once you returned one you could have another. Seems a fair method to me as faster crunchers get more work and the work is returned quicker this way.
As for Xtremlab is crunched it for a while and about the only think i achieved was some credits. Each WU is just 10mins long and often shorter and achieves little other than keeping your CPU warm as far as i can tell. The admins appear silent or MIA and it seems to me only good for those using those modified BOINC clients to claim 100's of credits per hour without anyone really noticing.
On the first point i may have posted that in the past but i cant remember and its something the new admins may want to look into once the project moves.

I hope it helped anyway. I thought i better jump in before someone else did lol. I hope it moves soon as i have around 1500 credits if i remember rightly waiting to show up on my stats.

See this thread its been gone over enough times as it is.

the short story is it wont happen until the server is moved and resetup.

Lolz ok so i 2 finger bash... i know my networking and Linux, build PCs and help a lot of my team mates out with all of that so i think i can be forgiven for not learning to touch type. Actually most of the best Computer techs i know don't have a clue how to touch type but like me they 2 finger bash and do it at 40-50 wpm.

I still have around 5 Wu's pending from July. All returned with success. Total credit pending is only 0.04 lol so i haven't worried about it but im shure it needs to be granted to clear up the old results obviously filling the database.

I have a short 0.2 day cache myself and have received work regularly recently. Not heaps of work but enough to keep LHC ticking over constantly. IF you lower the amount of work each user can receive and we get another batch of 5-10 second WU's (this does happen regularly) we might run out of ready crunchers before we run out of work. Things work now if people stop micromanaging their BOINC and let it do its thing you will get WU's.

It looks like the last Wu's to get issued are all worst case Wu's. Like a few seconds before they halt cause the particles crash. Im going through em like a RED hot knife through butter. I hope theres more to feed my hungry beast soon.

On a second note has anyone noticed and update to the homepage? About LHC@HOME? Ive never noticed it before (i visit daily) or its appeared tonight (im certain). Maybe the migration has started early :). Although if LHC works like other projects ill have to reduce its resource share lol. i set it up so it turns full time to LHC when it has work but don't really wanna crunch full time all the time lol. I got other projects to feed on :) If anyone has an update id love to hear about it.

Im at a loss as to how this could happen? How can you get seti crunching a LHC work unit? Is it people trying to optimize or something?
Mainly i wish people wouldn't hide their computers so we could let em know somethings wrong.

For one it seems to be claiming excessive credit but thats not the real issue. It seems to have a lot of Wu's under 3 seconds crunch time that have gone into pending when other computers are running for a couple of hours.
Is there a way someone can warn the owner they have some sorta issue?

Ugh my Core 2 Duo went a little crazy and grabbed 41 Wu's. From my calculations its going to really close finishing em all by deadline, but ive only crunched 2*1/3 of a Wu so far so it may end up slightly shorter.

I personally like to help out a few of the smaller projects when LHC is as usual outa work.

RCN is one of my favorites but is currently out of work until tommorow
RS is another but windows only sadly so only gets my part time cruncher there.
Einstein is also a great project and slower machines get basically all short workunits so my 2Ghz system can do a short one in 1.5-2hrs
Malaria is another of my favorites but my machine for that decided the workunits were too hard and started overheating but about 5hrs on my 700Mhz
