Basically LHC@home gives out two types of workunits: Most are relatively short units with "lhc1000" in their name, and some are quite long units called "tunescan" with more turns to calculate.

If the client comes to the conclusion that particles it calculates with would crash into the walls of the LHC accellerator, the workunit is immediately finished. If this happens right after a few turns, the WU is finished in 0 seconds (almost).
