Thank you, John, for your help! I'll wait for the server-health situation to improve and then I'll try again.

After many days of LHC@home being "down," I decided to detach it from BOINC until such time as it was "up" again. However, when I tried to re-attach LHC@home to BOINC I was informed via a dialog box that BOINC couldn't log on to LHC@home.

My account number is correct, as it enables me to log on to this web site; and the uniform resource locator is also correct. So, what must I do to re-attach this project to BOINC?

Your advice in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for helping!

As a proud member of this silly team, I implore all who stumble upon this thread to join our team -- if you've not done so already. You'll find, I'm sure, silly walking to be very therapeutic for whatever ails you; in my case, it's general inactivity due to end-of-the-month economic woes.

Silly walking, such as to the nearest convenience store for junk food, has saved my life on many occasions. It all began years ago, when I drove a station wagon through a [Please turn to Page 32.]

I, for one, am very pleased to have read that bulletin from Reuters; so, thank you for posting it to these forums! Fortunately, regarding the somewhat traumatic events which transpired toward the end of our celebratory party, I was still flush from my recent pay day; and thus -- thanks to a brave homing pigeon of which even Mr. Reuters would have been proud -- sufficient bail money found its way to the local precinct wherein our Fearless Leader was even then being denied his liberty. (The Ministry now owes me a fiver.)

I have found to my dismay that the LHC@Home aspect of the screensaver causes me to loose control of my computing system, as has been described by others in this thread; and the only way I can regain control is to subject my local machine to a cold re-boot, which is not an ideal situation. The ClimatePrediction.Net and SETI@Home aspects of the screensaver work just fine.

What I'd like to know is: When will this be fixed? Who is working on it? How do we get in touch with them? Thank you for your attention.

Pay no attention to my previous request, as I've found that statistics-in-your-signature thing! Now, I'm rather hoping it shows up here.

Help wanted: Someone who knows where I can find the statistics counter hyper-text markup language, please apply within. Thank you.

I've received the electronic-mail message pointing to the two backgrounds and have saved the red one to disk for uploading to my on-line storage site, but I'm clueless regarding the code which enables display of data within the background. Please help! Thank you, once again.

By the way, Michael, thank you for showing me to my des. . . . *thud* Sorry. Thanks for the desk. I'm safe now, having sat down.

There I was, minding my own business when suddenly I saw before me a sign: "This way for Ministry of Silly Walks." So, here I am! I've experience with the Department of Indians, Mines and Amusement Parks so a big bureaucracy like the Ministry of Silly Walks is right up my alley. Where's my desk?
