LHC group should lobby the MUON1 screen saver people over to BOINC
(Message 14574)
Posted 18 Aug 2006 by ![]() Post: I think MUON1 should continue as they are. Their client is stable, highly optimised and does what the project admins want it to do. Simple solution don't use BOINC if your not happy with it |

Posted 30 Apr 2006 by ![]() Post: Calling all UK folks and anyone else!! We're growing all the time - now over 510 members. We support ALL the BOINC Projects We have a very active forum (plenty of help, advice & fun to be had) We have a dedicated Team website, with links to all the stats sites, carefully built up over time, so Team members can see where they are in the rankings). And we like to have some FUN - hence the "Crunches" where we organise the Team members to crunch for specific projects, usually over a week-end once a month -this is just to build up some Team spirit. We even have our own up-to-date per-project mailing list, auto-generated from each of the projects, (with thanks to David Anderson of BOINC for making a change to the BOINC XML's outputs after we requested this !!) We have some other SECRET plans to generate even more team interest...will tell you more sometime. So please pay us a visit: Team website Team Forum We'd love to have you join us...! ![]() |

Posted 2 Apr 2006 by ![]() Post: Could have sworn that was Rom Walton..... Unless he has changed his name to hide from us all, ROM has done some good work over @Rosetta helping to get rid of loads of bugs in Windows, still trying to track the 1% bug but it seems to have run away to hide at the moment |

LHC still requires Boinc 4.45?
(Message 12583)
Posted 30 Jan 2006 by ![]() Post: I have been wanting to try Ufluids, but rumor has it that there is a possibility that groups may profit from info gained from it. Every BOINC project currently out will give groups some kind of profit if they find what they are looking for on the projects |

New Reccommended Version...
(Message 11521)
Posted 30 Nov 2005 by ![]() Post: They need to release new versions fast cause they don't want to scare away new users coming from seti classic. If they update it fast enough, the newest users will grab the newest app and wont' have the problems. It is a recommended version because if you are downloading the app you should get that one. You don't /have/ to upgrade unless you have one of the problems it fixes. exactly all the changes were for the new users to help them connect to the overloaded servers as BOINC got confused it wasn't a problem that could be tested for properly and showed up only due to classic closing |

New Reccommended Version...
(Message 11510)
Posted 29 Nov 2005 by ![]() Post: The new versions of BOINC are due to the massive influx of users over at SETI this brought up a whole hosts of problems within BOINC which no one knew exsisted as they only showed when the servers were overloaded. The team have worked hard to solve all the problems in the past week on a limited budget and staff no one is forcing any users to update it isn't required if your BOINC client runs perfectly at the moment, people have choices, don't downlaod it, download it or quit BOINC never to be seen of again |
