And sure, someone is doing some fixing but as far as i can see only when something is crashing. Its so frustrating to see a good project as LHC suffer like this. I share the feeling of frustration. But we are not going to get good service from the incoming people if the first thing they see is a lot of complaints about how long they took to get here, and about stuff that happened before they were in post. I stood in the rain for two hours waitng for a bus once, on an "every 20 mins" service. Gave the driver a right mouthful when he finally came. He then told me it was his day off - there was some crisis at the depot and he'd been called in at short notice and here was me bXXXXXXing him for his efforts. My response had been entirely understandable but also totally unhelpful. R~~

They are clearly watching the server as best they can. Someone (at QMC or at CERN) sorted out the database problem last night for example. When someone is properly in post, and when people at QMC have completed the move, I am sure we will get more attention. We certainly will if we get someone in post of the quality of Chrulle. In the meantime, quite properly IMO, /stats/ is not at the top of their "urgent" queue and is not something we should expect to be done by an interim caretaker. River~~

Chrulle thought he'd fixed it, and if it was beyond Chrulle then it is not something that an interim admin is going to want to take on for fear of breaking it worse. Hopefully someone will remember to bump this thread again when QMC are in post as admins R~~

My wild guess is that the 8000 WU's that were out, were a test run after the system was moved to new hardware.... Don't bother, I'm sure that there will be work... Hey, I just turned 32 today. The justification for this was that you're probably not a very nice person. I'm sure that's not true, so please don't make me lie again. Thanks Look don't blame me for you lying to your kid... That's just totally rediculous . All you had to do was ask me to remove it because it was offensive to you, but to state that you had to lie to your kid because of me is absurd and I resent that. And you further show how rediculous it is by stating to him "that I'm probably not a very nice person" You don't know anything about me. I'm beginning to think you all here are a bunch of whining idiots. We all are supposed to be adults, (generally speaking) but lets see now, you posters don't like the way I post on the boards here, when all I was doing was trying to let the original poster of this thread know he was not the only one who was having issues with the WU's (or lack therof) and now my sig is offensive to your 4 year old, so I must change it. How you explain life's mysteries to your kids is your business just don't blame me for what I'm sure is not the first time nor probably the last time he/she will be exposed to what's in it. Jeeze you guys need to get a real life. Once again of all the boards I'm subscribed to, this one takes the cake.... (by the way that sig line is the same one I use on all my boards and this is the only place that's ever complained about it)
