A very good weekend for the LHC: well over 1 million collisions at 900 GeV and about 50 000 collisions at 2.36 TeV
Mon 14 Dec

So let\\\'s get some DATA and crunch.

Maybe the LHC@HOME team, needs to profile them a bit again.

Under the scientist so that they are going to use LHC@HOME.

LHC@home isn\'t broke it\'s just out of juice.
It\'s still up and running even an update now and then.

When the LHC is running again i believe the orange will come again :).

I have 1/2 clients looking in to it next to other projects.

Mr Wagner bills himself as a \"Nuclear Physicist\" based on a physics minor at college and some work in a veteran\'s hospital with nuclear medicine. By these standards someone who lives by the beach is a qualified lifeguard and if you\'ve ever seen Starship Troopers then congratulations, you\'re an astronaut! He\'s interspersed this time with three years in law school, being a grade-school teacher, and most recently work for a Hawaii botanical center. Either he\'s not actually very good at anything or he\'s the reincarnation of Leonardi DaVinci.

it could actually save money, by not letting it on the grid you save computing power.

2/ subsets wu\'s : why can\'t they be split up, 10 MB peaces.

As of right now, there still is work available... And it has been for more than 5 hours... Where is the problem?

There is a 500 WU's per cpu & Deadline limit which won't let people download 10.000 wu's.....

Sincerely,

Sysfried

500 is alot.!!!!!

deadline limit is ineffective.

Like I said a hundred times, cache limit. No more than X workunits in progress per CPU. That will solve the problem.

i prupose a seconds of work per x , atleast for now.
Until more regular work is available.

Nice update:

point1: Will the work be more and more melted together instead of 1 buffer stop 1 buffer. This is important because else we have too switch projects so much, and if we can't (or don't notice) pc's will run idle. YIKEEEEE idle, nanananan i can't hear you.!!! ;)

point2: Ah pitty your leaving chrulle, new work place i hope.

Ps: I guess will not be ass progressive as DPAD is.
I like the DPAD idea but it is not really user-friendly a bit chaotic(on the outside, webpage etc.)

Well, there is only so much work that has to be done. I try to keep pushing the scientist to tell me when and how much work they are going to do. You can be sure that as soon as i know something i will let you know.

cheers

I hope you get more insight in how it will be.
Especially on some more regular work.

But will there be any scientist that are going too tell us a bit more.
You are maybe a scientist, but not directley for a specific project else then the great LHC@home.

DPAD: http://stephenbrooks.org/muon1/ for example is very active, also a canon.
But not yet being build.

If i see how many times the admin comes here and answers question (1's every week) ;)
That's not good for the project.

What has too happen so that LHC get's more motion.
