Posted 16 Feb 2013 by boroda3 Post: First GPUs; this NOT easy. SixTrack is in Fortran. What is in the Fortran, which is not in the C? Unique Scientific Library? All other code translates to the C without any problems. Don't use CUDA please. CUDA - for NVIDIA card only, not for ATI and other. Use OpenCL instead, it is the same for both. |

How is the SSE3 thing coming along?

Task / Run Time / App 4148834 / 15,002.69 / SixTrack v444.01 (pni) 4148831 / 14,962.90 / SixTrack v444.01 (pni) 4148621 / 15,884.89 / SixTrack v444.01 (pni) 4168474 / 887.66 / SixTrack v444.01 (sse2) 4168472 / 1,394.16 / SixTrack v444.01 (sse2) 4168470 / 1,023.10 / SixTrack v444.01 (sse2) BOINC 7.0.28, Win7 x86, AMD Phenom II X4 955 You say, that SSE3/PNI faster? Hmm... Again problems with optimization for AMD processor? Don't use Intel compiler. |

May be it is not error of my system (Phenom II X4 @ 3.3GHz) - but wasted time. I think the other tasks of this party can also be immediately disposed of, not to be wasted CPU. |
