Yesterday we had 283,000 work units ready to go and now they are all about gone. What happened? Did we have many new members joining the project? What ever happened is good but we now need more work units.

I also send out PM's to all the members of the 'US Navy' LHC team telling them of the work units that were available and while doing so noticed that years ago to the present when LHC was down for months and years at a time the 'US Navy' had many folks wanting to crunch work units for the project but never got any and never came back to the project including some who just got a few.

At present this our count of members:
Total members 214 (view)
Active members 37 (view)
Members with credit 150 (view)

Listed are 74 members without credit...zero credits...those who came to work and went away due to lack of work and many more who just got a few credits and left. We are now down to actually 29 active members. I am sure there are hundreds of teams which will show the same results as the 'US Navy' LHC team.

We really would like to see more work units to keep the teams working as well as those who have not signed up with a team.

The members of the US Navy Team\'s forum have voted to select the project \"Climate prediction\" as the POTM (Project of the Month) for the month for March. This will run for two (2) months due to some large work units. If you desire not to work this project the US Navy teams need some help in the following projects: [b](1) uFluid, (2) QMC, (3) Rectilinear Crossing Grid. Any help given in these projects will help us greatly in surpassing the U.S.Air Force team in both the RAC and total cobblestones. To-date every POTM selected has resulted in the US Navy team leading the Air Force by a great amount.

Navy Team\'s Forum Come on by, sign-up and vote for the next POTM.

Thank you,

Yank

......get a cache of wu\\\'s on my dual x5355 system.

The current parameters allow all of my other sytsems to cache (1 days worth) a couple of extra wu\\\'s, yet the x5355 never has any wu\\\'s cached.
So I end up with a core or two idle because the system
gets pushed back by the \\\"last attempt to recent\\\" error.

Surely this has something to do with the core count.

Great to have work !!

Just asking if you have your preferences set to allow 8 cores to be read?

Is/are your computer/s available to receive them? It may be that you are loaded up on your computer with other projects. Many work units are now available., the most I have seen in some time.

The US Navy team has a \'Project of the Month\". We ask all members of any Navy team in the BOINC system to crunch work units for the selected project. The project selected for December is Cosmology at home.

If you can spare some of your computer power for the Cosmology at home please sign up with the Cosmology project and then sign on to the US Navy Cosmology team. Every little bit can help us keep ahead of the U.S.Air Force team.

The Navy Team\'s Forum is at:Navy Team\'s Forum. How about joining the Navy Team\'s Forum and \'Vote for the next Project of the Month\'.

Is it possible for this project to inform us when a new batch of work units will be available? A number of other projects have X number of work units available and when they are all taken by members of the project management then posts a possible date that a new batch may be available. This will aid many members who do not like to have a project constantly pinging a web site for weeks and months at a time just to get a few work units.

The Similarity Matrix of Proteins (SIMAP) project uses this method.
