Chrulle/Markku,

I hope either of you see this, as I just wanted to point out (In case you weren't already aware), that nearly all other major BOINC projects are now capable of running 5.x.x Predictor is upgrading their server software in approximately 7 days. Is there any timeframe for LHC@Home to be upgraded?

Server Status

Up, 173962 workunits to crunch
36428 workunits in progress
38 concurrent connections

Who knows, maybe we'll crack 200k?

Good to hear LHC will be around for some time yet.........If I am reading this correctly, it means that once the LHC is in operation, sixtrack will be used to analyse the results?

Chrulle,

What does that mean? Is the deadline remaining 14 days?

I look forward to seeing the results, even though I will have to do some serious googling to make sense of half of it ;)

The new server has no problems keeping up with the load of the new users, so we will open up for another 2000. Have a nice weekend.

BULLDUST IT CAN! Dammit! :)

Thanks Chrulle! At least I got a meaningful answer from you! Not like the other responses saying the new server is an iPod :D

I was just curious what the specs are of the new server?

Could it be that the LHC team is creating a large buffer of WUs, and then allowing a few more users to sign up?

Seems that way to me ;)

Seems each other host has been granted 94.90 worth, mine shows as pending.

http://lhcathome.cern.ch/workunit.php?wuid=90557

Once again, other hosts have been granted credit, in this case 55.83 - another machine apart from mine has also not been granted credit.

All others who have completed this WU have received credit, yet my machine has not?
14) Message boards : Number crunching : Boinc Client 4.25 (Message 6445)
Posted 6 Mar 2005 by Scottatron
Post:
All good here with 4.25, except I had to abort a Predictor WU due to it running to 102% completion.....

No problems since, and looking at the WU it seems a few people had client errors.

So, cannot safely say if it was a 4.25 issue, or a WU issue.

I have a few other small problems with 4.25:

1.) Cannot sort by selecting the headings.
2.) If running more than one project, if you perform a manual update, it will start crunching FOR the project you have updated - only intermittent at this stage.
3.) Closing the application takes a fair while.

Good to hear that CERN have realised/seen the power that BOINC brings, and hopefully they can continue to keep making use of it.

I have also found for these niggling issues to simply close BOINC completely/reopen it and then it seems to behave.

The above works for credit amounts anyway...
18) Questions and Answers : Windows : How do you get Sixtrack 4.47 into your Windows BOINC client? (Message 4453)

Not correct ShuR. If 4.46 is still installed, the server will only send WUs that are marked as being 4.46 ones. To get the new sixtrack, one must either detach/reattach or reset the project.
19) Questions and Answers : Windows : LHC site, SETI info... (Message 4451)

All,

Intermittently when I come to this site, and either click on the message boards or my account, my SETI stats appear/SETI message board comes up.

I can normally tell this will happen by the background colour of the site. If it is white normally SETI stuff will come up, but if it is grey the correct LHC info comes up.

Anyone else had this happen? I am currently attached to both projects with 80% set to LHC, and 20% for SETI.
