Before installing, read the forums to see if there are any issues. You will have more free and productive time with fewer problems."

Post:
In the near future it will not be and if it is it will not be with NPU.

I think it could be with a dedicated graphics card exclusively for AI within desktop computers, having 2 graphics cards, one for games and one for AI or using the integrated graphics in the cpu and using the card for AI.

An RTX 2060 is 5 times more powerful than the best NPU that will hit the market in a few months and is the most basic card for at least 3 years.

The first problem is that in the world the large Asian chip foundry companies (without Western competition in the sector) are all immersed and collecting resources in the manufacture of AI chips mainly for the big brands Amd/nvidia/ampere/qualcon/ exynos...

These Asian companies agree on prices among themselves and these annual increases are transferred to the final consumer.

If we add the factory increases of cpu/gpu/ddr/hbm3 memories, it is a joint increase in their value of 1040%, which creates enormous inflation in the West since none of the cpu/gpu brands can avoid that increase for the consumer.

Really, the most advanced in AI is Nvidia, which in 2005 made a very big bet on R&D in both hardware and software that paid off with Cuda and tensors.
Tesla and other companies already having the previous generation of Nvidia will buy the GB200 CPU+integrated GPU.

The market will suffer a temporary shortage of GPUs due to the high demand for AI chips, including the memories that are needed.

USA sanctions China but those sanctions do not really work, thousands of new companies are created that buy enormous quantities of AI gpu....orders of 105 million dollars where that order is delivered, that order goes to China and the company is already hill to avoid responsibilities.

You can exercise real control in your country, not in that of others.

An AI in England has managed to discover how to make magnets without using rare earths after 6 months of work, achieving magnets that are 20% cheaper and 70% more ecological, it is the first evidence of the result of AI as we know it in scientific development .

The thing is that looking a little more I realize that in both cms they are equal in the point bonuses in both linux/windoms (1500 to 3000 credits) and I was surprised by the point bonus in his linux of this user from the previous posts when he really starts to finish work. with calculation in CMS.

hadron it's your computer. 25611 credits
In all your CMS tasks they do not go below 25,000 credits

But not only that, with the previous CMS finished with 150-second CPU calculations, you already had 1150 credits. Your topic comes from a long time ago, not from now.

Your computer receives a x10 credit bonus for the same task performed on another computer.

Hello,
the points don't matter to me, I offer my computer to help with scientific tasks when I don't use it, I don't expect anything in return, the hardware in computers unfortunately becomes obsolete in a matter of years, a multitude of computers have simply been wasted use that for video games.
You as an individual can decide how you want your machine to work, but what you cannot do is demand that others who want to use your machine adapt to your preferences if they do not match what they are looking for for their results and program. There will be cases where certain Relatively old hardware cannot support those minimum levels of the work that is sent to them and there will be other more modern hardware that could possibly do it better, faster and with better results.

In your case and that of some others, you take tasks where a task was executed without any calculation work, in the case of others, they basically get more than 5000 tasks that all become aborted, giving enormous work to the servers and day after day day and day after day 24 hours/7 days.

I think this needs to set some limits in both cases.

What I don't understand is why the difference in bonus points for the same CPU work time in CMS, if you run it on Linux they give you 30,000 points, if you run it on Windows they give you 3,000 points... I don't care but to others....

Posted 24 Jun 2024 by Emmanuel Mar
Post:
Hello, seeing the number of tasks that are returned from many users with an "error", the majority of them are due to not installing
["Virtualbox number x.x "and "Virtualbox extension pack x.x," same version if it is virtualbox 0.14 the extension pack is 0.14 not 0.18
without the Virtualbox extension pack the task is automatically "error".

That may be the power method you use in Windows 10, hibernation is an option within the power method and you can change it.
Configuration/system
Control panel/Power and Sleep/Additional power settings/Choose or customize a power plan/(choose 3 options) Eco/balanced/High performance..Change plan settings/put the computer into sleep state (never) / change advanced power settings / Sleep / Sleep after (never) / hybrid sleep (never) / hibernate (never)

Choose high performance

Within sleep there are more options for hard drives, graphics card, ethernet, wifi, usb.... check them all and verify what they say (never or disabled), there are also disconnections of cpu cores if there are no c-state tasks. It depends on you

My experience with Atlas and other work with xeon w3680(130w) ddr3 1300 and i5 12600 (65w) ddr5 5600 both using Atlas, in both cases 8 threads or 4 cores were used, on the I5 12600(year2023) the tasks are completed in 3 hours and score 3000/4000 on the xeon w3680 (year 2009) the time doubles and triples the score is lower despite completing the task.

The energy expenditure per hour of the Xeon w3680 is double compared to the current generation for the same threads and if it met the same deadline, but it takes 2 to 3 times to complete the task.Mermory DDR3 1300 vs DDR5 5200,lot step up.

intel xeon w3680(130w) and i5 12600(65w) =12 theads/6 cores

16 years apart and that xeon already worked at the LHC at the time.2012

w3680 1 task 10 hours= 130w x 10=1300w
i5 12600 1 task 3 hours= 65w x 3=210w
Big energy difference, big performance difference and more tasks in the same day completed with much less electricity consumption.

Long Duration Package Power Limit="enter number"65 on my cpu is 65w TDP "Choose your CPU"
Package Power time window= "enter number" 1 s (by default it is 30 seconds) but giving it a smaller window will never exceed the maximum TDP for a time greater than 1 second.
It is more stable for longer at the same frequency (overclocking)
Short Duration Package Power Limit=The same TDP that you previously set in Long Duration Package Power Limit for your CPU, in my case 65W.
Dual TAU Boost=OFF
IA TDC CURRENT LIMIT INTE =Default
THE IMPORTANT SECTION HERE (LONG DURATION PACKAGE POWER LIMIT/SHORT DURATION PACKAGE POWER LIMIT) limits the maximum amount of watts that the CPU will use in state P1 and P2.
If you noticed in this case both P1 (65w), P2 (65W) with a window time of 1 second, the processor in no case exceeds 65w.
This forces the CPU to go to very high frequencies with hardly any workload for the 6 cores/12 threads (4400 mhz in my case).
When there is a 100% workload for all cores (6cores/12threads), in my case, the same CPU will lower the frequency to all cores equally to stay in line.
65w(3900mhz)
IF YOU SEE THAT AT 100% LOAD in all the Cores of your CPU you still have temperatures equal to greater than =^75 degrees, lower more watts, it could be that you have a basic CPU heatsink.

How to achieve a PC with 100% CPU/GPU performance simultaneously 24 hours/7 days in Win 10/11 with 100% load.

I5 12600 3300 mhz thread 65wTDP/113w 100t juction tuf gaming RTX2600 TU106-200A 175wTDP
6cpu/12 threads work
In this case we must assimilate that we have 12 threads / we will always leave 1 CPU / 2 threads free of computing for the operating system / GPU use.
Target CPU temperature 60º to 75º in all cores 100% load/ 140W GPU core (72º) 100% load.

3 Route

1) Route 1. Leaving everything without touching the bios or software, from the factory everything comes overclocked (not 24h/7days).

2) Route 2. Simple without overclocking (full safe mode), leave the CPU at base frequency (3300 MHz), still put a tdp (65w in my case).
--- Software----
Coretemp,(options)(overheat protection)=enabled 85º /shutdown Options/Power Down 30 seconds,OK.

3) Route 3. Overclocking on CPU under control up to 65W (TDP) (on my CPU, on yours it will be different), this will work better or worse depending on your CPU heatsink.
GPU lower power performance.
