I just noted an interesting phenomon. I seem to have stopped getting ghost clients about the end of May. I believe that there may be a bug fix in the most recent version of the client.


Thats good to hear.

BTW, you can merge something over 100 at a time.


When i had to do it i believe my best was 136 at a time.

Good to hear that is a server software issue as just had it happen on boincmgr 5.8.11 and was wondering. At least this time i remembered and only let it contact twice before editing the clientstate.xml file

This is still a problem -- tried attaching a laptop for a couple of days -- without checking xml file to ensure that it updated with a host id and guess what --- it didn't ;/ so had to merge almost 500 hosts into one so i could delete it as wife took the laptop away.

Hope this is something that gets looked at otherwise all new users/hosts are going to get LOTS of hosts listed -- like every time they connect.

New error message to me. Trying to figure out if my machine or LHC server causing. My New machine is using Windows XPPro X64 with an AMD x2 processor. Did not receive this error on this machine when running under Fedora Core 4 64 bit.

Should have known better - problem is due to running the Nvidia Firewall - after initial contact and download of wu it then blocks something but can't tell what.
