I will think about this before giving my opinion......I started to write something and then stopped it.
Better to sleep first late night before speaking up.

Looks like the batches become bigger. I have my share and at this moment there are more then 2000 ready to send.

@ dbanfi: If you want to supply work to all machines it needs to be 50000 jobs at least.
If you have less it's not really necessary to make an announcement. They will be gone too fast.

Since there are right now no or only very sporadic very vew WUs around that is ok.
There is a pause for a week or two see the news item.

Nice to see also the Q&A section (almost) clean.
There is already the next spammer active.
If you prefer to have this info through another channel i.e. a separate thread or via pm just tell me exactly where to go.

That is true. I see that in the meantime the spammers which did it also in the discussion forums are banished.

Please have also a look at the Q&A section. There it is much worse.

I guess the Core 2 6600 has the smaller Instruction set, so could I just limit boinc somehow to only use WUs with one Instruction set that are available on both CPUs? Or any other Ideas?

Maybe with the 'Anonymous Platform' mechanism. It is meant to run third party optimised programs.
You will need to take care of the program version yourself since this will block the automatic upgrade if the project offers a new program.

As soon as it works 'stable' I will add another project, suggestions?

Depends to your interests. Have a look here.

If there is another way somebody will point it out.

I hope you will also find some time to remove the spam posts from the message boards.
I did notify Igor already some days ago but it is still there.

The way I understand this is that Eric is doing real simulations and is collecting the needed data for his paper at the same time.

It till not effect workflow because what the sixtrack program does is simulating settings of the magnets which keeps the beams in the right lane when travelling through the rings.
We test the settings for that the scientist know hich are working and which cause trouble.

When there is no more work to send we have to wait for Eric to supply new one. This process is not automated here.

In a way he says both.

As I understand it the current oppinion in computing world is that it is not possible to get matching results over all available hardware and OS combinations.
That is also the reason why the validator is validating results which don't match 100% but are 'strongly similiar' to each other.

Eric is working to prove that it is possible.

Red X not working.
Since there is already the next spamming account I think it is worth that you check this Red X thing for that the moderators get the notification (or what is the procedure for it).
And that then the Discussions are deleted as well and not only the users banished please?

P.S.: to avoid spamming there is a function implemented for that nobody is able to post if there isn't a minimum amount of credit granted.
I vote for that you set this one also.

Propably the beams just crashed into a wall.
That would mean that htis results will validate when it happens on the other computer also.
It is to be expected and just means that the set up of the magnets and other components of the LHC wasn't good.

Well about disc full there is nothing you can realy do about.
Maybe plenty people are also participating in T4T.
There are some bugs in the wrapper and one of them can fill up the disc space.
A new wrapper without that problem is in beta testing.
