wath If mine crunching-work lead to an important discovery?

Posted 4 Jul 2012 by bill brandt-gasuen Post: I have just read a preliminary announcement addressing your reference to the Higgs Boson. A fabulous achievement, the culmination of years of theoretical work coupled with tenacious physical experiments. It would be a perfect event if distributed computing efforts associated with the work at LHC played even a small contribution to the discovery. Since the onset of SETI@home it has been my belief that Distributed Computing will one day be recognized as an important milestone in the history of science, a linchpin of scientific method. Now maybe we can move on to the other 96% of the universe! bill brandt-gasuen |
