Try "cvmfs_config wipecache" followed by "cvmfs_config probe".
If autofs is configured and the 2nd command still produces an empty output then post your /etc/cvmfs/default.local.

i tried those 2 commands (had to log into my admin account and use sudo) and the second command still doesn't give me any output. but how do i know if this autofs is configured?

edit: something else just occurred to me. is it possible that my firewall is causing these problems? what port(s) and protocol(s) does cvmfs use?

If all task failed i would check check setup.
cvmfs_config chksetup

yes, this one says OK

Then also probe.
cvmfs_config probe

Does it say OK?

this one does not give me any output. is that normal?

i get a lot of computation errors, and ALL of them are theory native and atlas simulation tasks. not a single one has completed successfully. why is that? and yes, the theory native and atlas simulation are the ONLY tasks that fail, everything else is no problem. what's going on?

in case it matters, i use BOINC 7.14.2 on ubuntu 19.04

in the project parameters in your account

hm, looks like that did the trick. now, is that gonna work on rosetta too? worth a try...

could you please check that you flagged the android app as test?

How do I do that?

when i update LHC@home, i get several log messages saying "no tasks are available for <project>"

and when i did get some tasks for LHC, they did NOT say sixtracktest, they said sixtrack. so that doesn't sound like a test app to me.

according to the server status page, there are almost 200000 tasks ready to send. so why can't i get any new tasks on my android phone?

9) Questions and Answers : Sixtrack : VirtualBox is not installed (Message 33253)

Post:
Are your preferences set to only accept work for Sixtrack?

yeah, they were. so i turned on most of the options. then it got a workunit for atlas that ended in a computation error. so did the next 2. im not gonna waste time on something that is so obviously flawed, so i turned atlas off again. not worth my time.

i run BOINC on a linux box, and i have the same problem. heres what i dont understand:

i recently reinstalled my whole OS and apps, and after that LHC worked. it crunched a couple of units, and now i get this "virtualbox not installed" nonsense instead of any new workunits. the only reason why i installed virtualbox is for LHC, and all LHC does is complain, complain, complain. spoiled brat!
so whats going on here?

2012 macbook pro, ubuntu 16.04, BOINC 7.6.31, wxWidgets 3.0.2, in case that makes any difference.

that was more than a month ago. what's going on? will there ever be new versions for OSX and linux?

so the problem is not at my end. hmm...

by the time someone gets around to fixing the problem, all the WUs will be gone and i'll lose out. again. :-(

earlier today i checked the server status, and the web page told me there were more than 50000 units available. problem is that the server stubbornly refuses to send me any units although i have sent it MANY requests over the last few hours.

now the count is down to about 27000 but i still don't get any. what's going on?

PS. here's a few entries from the log:

Thu May 9 19:10:02 2013 | LHC@home 1.0 | update requested by user
Thu May 9 19:10:07 2013 | LHC@home 1.0 | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
Thu May 9 19:10:07 2013 | LHC@home 1.0 | Requesting new tasks for CPU
Thu May 9 19:10:08 2013 | LHC@home 1.0 | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
Thu May 9 19:10:08 2013 | LHC@home 1.0 | No tasks sent

note that it does NOT say no work available. so why don't i get anything?

i tried resetting the project, i tried upgrading boinc to the latest version (7.0.65) but that didn't help
