Only one host getting work
(Message 22084)
Posted 15 Mar 2010 by Cragg Post: After waiting so long, I was thrilled to see LHC back, but am experiencing a strange issue. I have a few computers all configured for my 3 Boinc projects. They all used to crunch LHC, but since the return, only one machine is getting work to do. Nothing has changed in my preferences of setup, and the other machines are asking, but only one receives. Any ideas, or is this a just a statistical anomoly? |

Can't get work
(Message 21207)
Posted 20 Feb 2009 by Cragg Post: Agreed. There was a short blip of work for about two months and then it stopped. My first concern was - oops what did I do? All there is is a hint on the home page seeing how many units are out there. When nothing is in progress, you\'re not the only one without work. |

Why BOINC 6.X has issues with LHC@home and other things

Posted 22 Nov 2008 by Cragg Post: Thank you - Thank you I feel for my slower machines, and hope that my fast ones get the faster ones have the luck of the draw to start crunching a WU first. Cragg |

Why BOINC 6.X has issues with LHC@home and other things
(Message 20793)
Posted 22 Nov 2008 by Cragg Post: YAY WORK! Can someone explain why I have on each machine, a bunch of WUs that finish properly, and a large amount that are tagged as redundant result, or cancelled by server. I did a search in the message boards, but got no results. Is that because the search doesn\\\'t work either? Does this have anything to do with the BOINC 6.x problem you are all talking about? All my WUs resulted invalid
(Message 20735)
Posted 31 Oct 2008 by Cragg Post: Same here. With the batch beginning on the 29th at 10:46:00 UTC, the first two units were under 10 sec and reported fine (.03 credit each), the next looked normal and granted me 5.75 credit, but everything after that (20 tasks) were all \"client error\". They came from a few different machines. If no one got credit, I guess I need to be fine with that, but being a latecomer to LHC@home not knowing it was around, (but having awaited the real thing for many years), I don\'t need someone chasing my tail on stats because they got lucky :-) It would also be nice when posting if the text did not fall off into an invisible area ! |

Please note: this project rarely has work

Posted 30 Sep 2008 by Cragg Post: I was wondering if with the gas leak, if there would still be occasional WUs coming down the pipe, of if somehow we could control and reduce the WU requests to the server, rather than have it back us off a few hours each time? Or, does the traffic not matter? |

Posted 16 Aug 2008 by Cragg Post: If I set LHC at a low priority, when there is no work for LHC, does my other project run at 100% or at the reduced proportion? Also, does this affect how much work I get? Lastly is iy 10 per user or 10 per computer? I've kept my slower machines off LHC< but since the WUs are small, 10 per machine won't eat into my other crunching too much. Advice will be appreciated. Thanks. - KEEP ON CRUNCHING. |
