This one claims Avast Antivirus disabled vt-x even when it was enabled in BIOS... https://superuser.com/questions/869593/intel-virtualization-technology-and-vt-x-wont-work-in-windows-8-1/1037529 |

greg_be, you are NOT alone with a Computer of enabled AMD-V and not working with it in Windows: Have in the client_state.xml since 2017/11 <p_vm_extensions_disabled>1</p_vm_extensions_disabled> no idea why it is. But..., have on the same Computer a VM with SL69 running AND there is Atlas running. |

Have in the client_state.xml since 2017/11 IIRC, the fix for that is something like shutdown the client, edit both copies of client_state.xml (the original + the backup) and change the 1 to a 0, restart the client? |

Have in the client_state.xml since 2017/11 Mine is 0 automatically. Nothing to change there for me. |

greg_be, I can't get Atlas or any of the others without the VM working. So I am stuck with sixtrack. |

Similar problem discussed here... https://superuser.com/questions/1153470/vt-x-is-not-available-but-is-enabled-in-bios Windows Hypervisor platform is already disabled. The command in the external page that you linked to is not recognized by windows. |

Hypervisor is not checked when looking at the Windows features pop up window. |

Two days ago you mentioned "a bunch of errors" when you tried to set up a VBox test machine. I'd like to repeat my questions: What errors? Can you post a list of those errors? |

Two days ago you mentioned "a bunch of errors" when you tried to set up a VBox test machine. Don't recall what happened in version 5.2.16 but it was more than this. Doesn't matter anyway...since the SVM function on the MOBO even though enabled is not working. See other comment threads about this. |

The error code mentions Hyper-V. Yeti's checklist clearly states to switch it OFF (#2). You may uninstall it or follow this Howto to switch it off: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/50053255/virtualbox-raw-mode-is-unavailable-courtesy-of-hyper-v-windows-10 |

The error code mentions Hyper-V. Yeti needs to update his screen shots. WIn10 is different. It is now called hypervisor and if you had read my previous posts I stated the hypervisor is unchecked. And according to other webpages related to "hyper-v" it is off to begin with as I see on my machine. I also said that speccy and another project show that virtualization is not supported on this board (since it is not able to be turned on despite the fact that the BIOS says it is on) As far as I can tell there is nothing to be done until I see the computer doctor about this. All normal attempts at disabling this and that in windows do not work and for some reason BIOS or the board or CPU will not allow virtualization to be enabled, despite reinstalling the BIOS. |

Try this Go to regedit Then HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ DeviceGuard \ Scenarios \ HypervisorEnforcedCode Integrity \ Enabled in the registry to 0 On the left side of that regedit page you will find all of this and slowly scroll through those steps and you will find it pretty easy. (then you have to reboot of course and I tested this on a Win 10 machine) |

Try this Getting closer...now Speccy reports: Virtualization Supported, Disabled Whereas before it was just Not Supported. So now what? |

Did you check in the Bios after that to see if it was set to enable Virtualization again? I don't have a AMD Ryzen 5 myself so the settings I think are a bit different than mine but you can check this....... In the Bios I think maybe you see *Advanced Frequency Settings and then Advanced Core settings* and there you enable SVM. Give that a try and see if it is then enabled when you use Speccy. Good luck |

You need to get in the Bios of this computer and see if it is set to allow Virtualization. Your talking about SVM on a MSI board in the advanced section and then the CPU section. Trust me, I have been all over that since the start. I have disabled it, rebooted, let all my work finish, deleted boinc and its related directories, cleaned the registry, rebooted, went into BIOS enabled SVM, installed boinc again and still either not supported or disabled according to Speccy. |

Don't know what happened! From here it looks like it was the registry hack tip from the old pro? If so then old pro deserves more than a thank you for the update? |
