I have been a member of LHC@Home since Feb 2017, but only have been able to process 4 work units. Not sure if this is the same problem as the "SixTrack Tasks," but I'm posting my info here to see if it helps me acquire more work units.

I've looked for instructions on how to find the "client logging report," but a search of your site and BOINC help revealed no info, so I don't know how to show it to you.

I guess if you want me to process data for you, I'll need some help and direction.

At the top of the Boinc Manage page click on *Tools* and then *Event Log*

That is a good start to see if you are actually asking for work and what projects you might have asking for work.

And at the left side of the Boinc Manager *Projects* is where you do updates and ask for work.

On your LHC account page it has nothing listed so we can't tell what your computer is doing.

Hi Renata,

Your computer seems to be a MAC.
According to the applications overview sixtrack does unfortunately not provide a MAC version.
Probably in the future so you may check it regularly.

Nonetheless lhc@home supports MAC versions for vbox apps.
Feel free to try one of them.
I would suggest to start with Theory Simulation as it has less resource requirements than the others.

I have only 3 computers, a SUN 2008 vintage running OpenSuse Linux Leap 42.2, a HP Laptop also running SuSE Linux and a Windows 10 PC, my latest machine. I had to reinstall SuSE Leap 42.2 on the laptop after a system crash, so it seems to be a new machine. But all LHC tasks except SixTrack fail on all 3 for unknown reasons.
I am sorry for this, because I was an Alpha tester of Test4Theory@home on invitation by Ben Segal after I had written on a message board about a Solaris Virtual Machine I had installed on the SUN workstation. I had received a letter of thanks from him.

These runtimes seem to me rather normal for an AMD E-450 processor.
About the 5th of the speed of an i5 3rd generation.

Also that machine got 2 tasks with SSE2 support and 2 without. The latter are still in progress. Due 6 Aug 2017, 2:24:54 UTC.

I don't understand why the completed task does not figure in the summary per app version:

I mean, it says 1 "consecutive valid tasks" but the "number of tasks completed" is 0...

Other entries in that table do not seem to by fully consistent...

This Computer was new build at 17/7/24 (OpenSuse 42.2)
The old one (OpenSuse 13.2) was merged in Computerlist, because of identical Processor and Computername.

This can explain why the table is empty.

The E-450 computers are not yet merged.
Otherwise only 1 of them would appear in the list.
The merge has to be initiated by clicking the link on the computer details page.

They were killed when I had to reinstall the OS on the E450 PC. I have only one LHC@home tasks now running on the Windows 10 PC. It is a LHCb simulation but it is not doing anything. CPU usage is close to zero. I am letting it to run in the hope of getting some credits.

I have vainly tried to install SuSE Leap 42.3 on my E-450 PC. I had installed Tumbleweed, but its kernel is 4.10 and Einstein@home would not run on it. So I came back to good old 42.2.

Well it should NOT be necessary to eliminate the non-SSE. I pride myself
on being all inclusive. It should be better very soon as the 64-bit versions
will be SSE or AVX only. As of today we just run 32-bit versions on all platforms.
I'll try and have a look myself. There is NO logical reason to run the "old" non-SSE
versions except on ancient P3 etc!

Ah... the mention of new 64 bit apps ? What we are running now for 6 Track is all from 2014.

Dare we ask how soon will the new App's be released ?

Sorry to disappoint you but the 64bit app is not what it looks like, at least the linux version.

Well may you ask! I hope we shall release in a few weeks (best guess, and I
am in principle an optimist).

We are currently testing extensively on "sixtracktest". I myself
submitted a few thousand cases yesterday. The current (not yet final)
version under test is v46.15 as against v451.07 from 2014!

The first problem was the end of Windows XP at CERN. I could never build
on Windows 7, never mind Windows 10, using cygwin. My young colleagues
now have a superb build system which includes Macs, ARM, and IBM P8/9.
Subsequent problems with gcc and ifort have been solved, and I myself am
now optimising to get the last few percent of performance.

We are very eager to introduce as there is a lot of new "physics" and functionality.
However we must test very thoroughly as there are millions of hours of your
CPU time at stake. There are also far too many infrastructure problems, not
forgetting the BIOS/Hyper Threading problem, which might go away :-) as we are
now using gfortran rather than Intel ifort. More news when I can, along with some
report on testing progress. Eric.

Testing so far; actually have 2 validated results, but 17 errors.
The errors look like infrastructure, many can't download the
input files or "couldn't start app: CreateProcess() failed - "
