The Working set size is calaculated from your web prefernces using the 2.6 + (0.6 x Max # CPUs).

I am running Ubuntu 16.10, and have set Max # CPUs =1. And I am seeing 3400.00 MB in BoincTasks "Memory". So maybe the formula has been revised, or is different for Linux.
(And I am not using an app_config, to see how it goes without it.)

As far as I know, the formula is the same for Windows and Linux. The formula used can be found in the following post from David Cameron: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_thread.php?id=4178, and it is 2.6GB + 0.8GB * ncores, which matches the 3400.00 MB.
We are the product of random evolution.

I notice that my two hosts have not downloaded any of these faulty "longrunners" since last night.

Was I just lucky, or have they been removed from the queue?

I have on my queue one task that is not a long runner but has already had one error -161 by someone else, here: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/workunit.php?wuid=65900663

It will take a few hours before it starts crunching, lets see what happens.

Hi all,

The problem has been tracked down to one host that was submitting a small number of ATLAS WU to the BOINC server which were faulty. I'm going to cancel all the WU left from this host and new ones should work ok.

David, these faulty tasks are still around. I just had one, a few minutes ago:
