Message 19858 - Posted: 2 Aug 2008, 16:37:11 UTC - in response to Message 19804.

Since the server upgrade, the first column of the forum (that indicates whether the thread is sticky) does not size properly in IE7 (it is fine in Opera 9.51).
In IE7 and Opera 9.51 the input text box when posting does not correctly align (it spans 1 column instead of 2) and it doesn't properly wrap text (I had to copy and paste this from Notepad to see what I was typing!).

All table colums resizing is broken.Confirmed with IE8 beta1 in normal mode.
And textbox size is wrong and second partis not even visible,so one is typing blind. :-(

The apostrophe and quote issue has also affected Einstein@Home, but they seem to have resolved it: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/forum_thread.php?id=6790

If you go to Tasks, and then try to select a WU, you get
the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_int() in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/workunit.php on line 8

This was on a result that I completed on Aug 4.

It's the same for all WU's - even the old ones.

Hmm, Alex seems to have managed to clear up the apostrophe problem on old messages, but new posts are still not being escaped properly.

Strangely this seemed to be fixed for me the other day, but now it appears to be broken again. I wonder if there is a CSS issue behind this somehow?

Hi,
signed up just to say that the 5.10.x download does not work
for the Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista link.(Join LHC@home page)
it points to:

http://boincdl.ssl.berkeley.edu/dl/
boinc_5.10.45_windows_intelx86.exe target=

which leads to a 404 page not found error.

In answer to the above question...

Click on the link, youe browser will come up with a 404 error
In the address bar delete " target=" and then click on refresh.
Your download manager should then detect this and download.

I've just tried it, and now about to run the program. Good luck!

Rather cosmetic, but on the display side of things one third the viewing pain is taken up by the menu on all pages which results in each column being taken up. On this post screen, 1/4 the browsers visable reealestate is taken up by white (grey) space, which means only 2 words are visable on what I post, and the rest I can\'t see, edit or access on post making.

On my account space, space beyond each vield\'s visable pain, becomes non-accessible text. Not everyone has enough browser real-estate for all these columns being fixed size, or all the white space being imposed. It has essentially made using the site from encombersome at best, to non-funcional at worse. Made worse that my old monitor went bad, so had to borrow one that forces me to 1024x768 screen res (my old monitor handled 1280x1024), and being a LCD has the optimal res bit on display part. Now throw that I routinely have 5_ programs open at a time and can NOT have 1 browser window take up the entire screen, and access everything I need to multi-task through at once.... There\'s too many columns all imposing their own footprint on browser window real estate. I can't even see all I\'m typing under this setup.

BTW, this is as displayed in IE 7

Edit: at the bottom of this post, I get more then 1 screen of white space before my sig; on other forums I'm not seeing this.

Bizarre - the text box works properly on my work computer, but not on my home computer, and I thought I was running the same OS and browser on both. I\'ll post the (working) config tomorrow, but at home with
IE 7.0.5730.13 and XP Pro SP3 (5.1.2600)
the text box is still messed up.

The front page download link for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista is no good, it says:
http://boincdl.ssl.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_5.10.45_windows_intelx86.exe%20target=

instead of :
http://boincdl.ssl.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_5.10.45_windows_intelx86.exe
