I'm not saying that LHC@home needs a full time administrator, just someone who has it within their job description to look into the project once or twice a day to see how it is going and to fix any problems. This is not too much to suggest. We have how many active participants? Like any organisation with a large volunteer base, the volunteers need to be supported by paid individuals at the front end especially when that organisation is avoiding spending large amounts of money by utilising the volunteers and getting something valuable in return. Thanks Ben. We all hope you find the person you are looking for sooner rather than later. Paul. |

If you are looking for another project which has some CERN involvement, there are still a few accounts available at MalariaControl.net. CERN is one of the organisations supporting the wider "Africa@Home" project. Indeed, they host the web site. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

If you are looking for another project which has some CERN involvement, there are still a few accounts available at MalariaControl.net. just before LHC@home goes back to life, please send out a mail to everyone. I don't have boinc installed and I'm saving some energy at the moment, but LHC could change that! ;-) Sysfried |

If you want a better response from CERN, you either better know the e-mail of someone who works directly there, or someone in the physical area of the facility who can stop by and ask what's going on. On the Internet, we're all just too far away from each other, or worse, abstractions without the ability to do anything besides leave text messages in places where they may never even be read by overworked or underfunded staff people. |
